PINNEY George

An English migrant named George Pinney arrived in the district in 1913. He did clearing for Wilfred House and H. O. Timms. After joining the army in 1915 he returned to England where he married and three years later he brought his wife back to Australia and took up a repatriation block on Peerup Road, west of Ongerup. Whilst establishing his farm he did a lot of work with William Black, shearing, clearing land, etc.
They had three children, Kathleen who married Edward Noakes, Bill who married Alison Spry, and Joe. Descendants of George and his wife are still living in the district today (1993).
